Meet Arthur "Art" Knight

Founded in July 2024, The Law Office of Arthur F. Knight, III is a full-service law firm and operates in Tennessee.
Arthur (“Art”) Knight has devoted his law practice to representing civil defendants since 1993. He is a founding member of the firm. Art is highly regarded by his clients and peers as one of the most effective lawyers in the State of Tennessee when trying a case with a jury or judge. He has successfully tried cases in virtually all venues throughout Tennessee, in both state and federal courts. In addition to his extensive jury and non-jury trial experience as lead counsel, Art provides pre-litigation advice to clients and personally handles dispositive pretrial motions as well as complex discovery issues. He strategically advocates for his clients during mediations and settlement negotiations. Also, he has represented clients in numerous successful appeals.
Art’s practice includes a wide range of civil matters, including civil rights, insurance defense litigation, business litigation and commercial law, education litigation, employment law, general civil litigation, governmental defense litigation, and personal injury. He is often called upon to provide insurance coverage opinions that involve complicated legal and factual situations. Art works closely with insurance claims representatives and assists all clients, whether individuals or entities, with defining, understanding and implementing their objectives to effectively and efficiently achieve positive results.

Art is married to Wendi Knight, and they are the proud parents of six children, Tinsley, Ruthie, Lil’ Art, Adie Rose, Asher and Lacy. Art attends Fountain City Church in Knoxville. He has been involved in many community activities, including being a long-time coach in several local youth sports. Art is also involved in local and charitable and non-profit organizations.
